Jio AI Classroom: Free 4-Week AI Course With Certificate
Jio has a free AI course that anyone can take. It is called the AI Classroom Foundation Course. Jio Institute designed it, it runs on JioPC, and Jio says it is "free for everyone", Jio customer or not.
Reliance Jio announced it at India Mobile Congress on October 8, 2025, as a four-week course for students, working professionals and anyone else who wants to learn AI. It doesn't teach theory. Over the four weeks you use tools like Gemini, ChatGPT, NotebookLM and Lovable to study, make things and build a small project of your own. Here is what the course covers, how to register, and what you get at the end.
⚡ Quick facts
- Course: AI Classroom Foundation Course by Jio Institute, powered by JioPC
- Cost: Free for everyone, no Jio connection needed
- Length: 4 weeks, 4 modules, self-paced, quiz after each module
- Languages: 12, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali
- Certificate: Jio Institute certificate if you finish on JioPC; badge otherwise
What the Jio AI Classroom course is
The course page calls AI Classroom a "structured learning path" for students and beginners. It has no prerequisites. You don't need to know how to code, and you don't need a paid account on any AI tool. Lessons are videos, and the course also has assignments, quizzes and a capstone project.
Jio lists two faculty members: Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Dean of Jio Institute and Chief Data Scientist at Reliance Jio's AI/ML Centre of Excellence, and Arpit Tiwari, a Gen AI scientist. The course is offered in 12 languages, so you are not limited to English.
The four modules, week by week
Each module ends with a quiz, and you have to pass a module's weekly quiz before the next one opens.
- Module 1, AI Basics & Prompt Engineering: what AI is, how chatbots work, and how to write prompts that get useful answers.
- Module 2, AI for Learning & Creativity: using AI to study, summarise notes and research, and to make images, music and voiceovers.
- Module 3, AI for Building & Communication: building a no-code website and making presentations and short videos with AI.
- Module 4, Your AI Project: working with AI "as a teammate". You set up simple automations, build a capstone project, pitch it, and add it to a portfolio.
The AI tools you will use
The course page names these tools: Gemini, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Adobe Express, Suno, ElevenLabs, Perplexity, Lovable and Google AI Studio. All of them have a free tier, so you can follow along without paying.
If you want a head start, we have step-by-step guides to NotebookLM and Lovable. Jio 5G users can also claim Google AI Pro free for 18 months, which unlocks the paid Gemini features used in some lessons.
How to register for free
- Open jio.com/ai-classroom on a laptop or desktop.
- Click Register for FREE and fill in the form. Reports say it asks for your name, phone number, pin code and address.
- Pick your language and start Module 1. You can learn at your own pace.
JioPC users get a shortcut to the course on their desktop. Jio was also offering a free JioPC Welcome Offer when we checked on October 21, 2026, so a Jio Set Top Box user can take the course on a TV and qualify for the full certificate.
Certificate: JioPC vs your own laptop
This is the detail that matters most if you want something for your CV. Jio says learners who finish the course on JioPC get an official certificate from Jio Institute. Learners who finish it on another laptop or desktop get a completion acknowledgment and a badge, not the Jio Institute certificate.
The course does not work on phones. You need a laptop, a desktop, or a TV running JioPC.
Is it worth doing?
For a beginner, yes. It costs nothing, it is in your own language, and the work is hands-on, so you end up with a website, a presentation and a capstone project rather than only notes. Four weeks with a quiz gate also gives more structure than learning from random videos.
It is a foundation course, though. It teaches you to use AI tools, not to build AI models, and it won't replace a degree or a technical certification. If you already use ChatGPT or Gemini every day, the first two modules will feel easy. Students looking for more free options can see our list of free AI tools for students.
